If you’ve been to this blog before, you may have already noticed that I made a big change recently. Like a big one! If you haven’t been here before then you may be a bit confused. Either way, I wanted to clear up any possible confusion and take a moment to formally announce that we have recently undergone a blog name change…
Welcome to Motherhood Sprouting!
Bye bye, Me and Lily 🙁
Why did I change the name of this blog?
If you read our about us page then you know that I got the idea to start this blog in a dream. In that dream, my blog was called Me and Lily. Thinking it was a sign from the universe I never thought twice about it and just went forth calling my blog Me and Lily. I loved the idea of having Lily’s name a part of the blog name, because well, I love her!
However, as time went on and I wrote more and more posts, I realized that this blog, while inspired by personal experiences, is not about me or Lily. It’s about you and all the other mother’s reading my blog. I really wanted my blog name to reflect the type of content I’m publishing. I didn’t want people coming on here and thinking they are going to be reading my personal journals. I wanted it to be immediately clear that I am here to help YOU!
Why did I choose Motherhood Sprouting?
While deciding to change the name of this blog was pretty easy, actually deciding on a name was so hard! Almost as hard as naming my child. Actually, naming Lily was pretty easy…this was harder! I really wanted it to be unique, but I also wanted it to be obvious what this blog was about….motherhood!
After narrowing my list down from about 20 to 2 options, asking my family incessantly for their opinions, and going back and forth so many times, I finally decided Motherhood Sprouting was it. Thank goodness the domain was available! Jeez, that would’ve sucked if it wasn’t.
I just love how the word sprouting represents new growth. New babies, growing children, growing into your role as a mom, etc. Sprouting is also a slight nod to my love for natural living topics which will continue to be a huge theme on this blog going forward.
Basically, this blog is about sharing information with other mothers to help them learn and grow on their journey through motherhood and now the name of it is a perfect representation of that!
Is anything else changing?
Nope! Nothing else is changing. Well, nothing big is changing. Moving forward I do hope to better cover the topic of motherhood and ONLY the topic of motherhood, nothing else.
This blogging journey I’ve been on has been quite the adventure so far and I would be lying if I said I always knew exactly what I was doing. Quite frankly, I just want to create a place where you love to come and learn new helpful things, and I am not always sure the best way to do that.
For the past couple of months, I’ve been playing around with different topics and categories and the types of posts I publish. If you’re on my email list then you know I announced I was adding an organization category to the blog and I was super excited about it. I thought posting about motherhood, natural living, and organization would give current readers a more well-rounded experience and attract new readers who might not want to read about motherhood.
Well, I have come to the realization that you just can’t be all things to all people. This blog is about MOTHERHOOD. That’s all. If I post about natural living it will be as it pertains to mothers and children. If I post about organization, it will be based around mothers and children. If I post about home decor, crafts, recipes, etc… it will be relating to mothers and children. I think you get the point!
Let’s grow fresh and new together!
As sad as I am to be moving on from Me and Lily, it’s also exciting to start fresh and new! I’m excited to delve even deeper into the world of motherhood and create a place where you love to come and read to discover, gain confidence, learn, get clarity, laugh, get inspired, and grow into motherhood!
If you have any motherhood topics you want me to cover, please share them in the comments below!
Thank you for going on this journey with me!
